20th Annual GAMMA Awards

Our 20th Annual Conference on April 30 was a great success. We had outstanding attendance at the advertising, management, editorial and design training sessions. The day culminated with the 2009 GAMMA Awards dinner. Congratulations to all the Bronze, Silver, and Gold winners, and Professional Photographer, winner of the Grand GAMMA Award.

"Thanks for a fantastic conference this year. We got lots of great ideas and info and had fun to boot.  Great job all around."

“You are to be commended for putting together such an outstanding annual conference for MAGS. Stephen Pia was the best sales trainer that I have heard in several years of attending MAGS conferences. He is focused, relevant, practical and inspirational. The two afternoon sessions on the web and web-based marketing were especially helpful, as they provided the audience with many practical tools that can be immediately applied to improve our visibility on search engines -- and most of these tools are free.

Thanks again for putting on a very rewarding conference.”

Hi MAGS Members,

Welcome to the new MAGS! "How is it new?" you might be wondering. Well, I just finished a board retreat last week that promises to bring the Magazine Association of the Southeast up to speed and going in an exciting and different direction. We're going to be doing more for our members, bringing them better insights on our industry and including more multimedia organizations in the mix to make our membership more robust.

The game is changing and we need to change with it. Our industry has been evolving at a more rapid pace than we've ever seen before and we need to keep up. MAGS is here to help you and your company do that.

We have made it our mission to help you in one of two ways. 1. To grow your company's bottom line. Or 2. To advance your career through networking or education. Everything we do from here on out will come through that paradigm.

I look forward to getting to know you all better and explosively grow this Association in 2009-2010.

All the best.

Stephanie Davis
MAGS President 2009-2010
